GlassFish Java EE 5 Application Server
Free Production-Quality Java EE 5 Application Server GlassFish is a free, open-source, production-ready, supported application server based on Java EE 5. The server runs on many platforms including Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, and Mac OS. It includes the TopLink Essentials implementation of the Java Persistence API. All GlassFish V2 releases provide the same stability and capabilities of earlier V1 and V2 releases, plus many new features and bug fixes. These include clustering, in-memory replication, more improvements to the Grizzly-based HTTP engine, enhanced administrative functionality, improved self-management capabilities, great performance, and more. It is based on the source code for Sun Java System Application Server PE 9 donated by Sun Microsystems and TopLink persistence code donated by Oracle. This project provides a structured process for developing a high quality application server that makes new features available faster than ever before. It is the response to Java developers who want access to the source code and the ability to contribute to the development of Sun's next generation application server which is based on GlassFish. This project is designed to encourage communication between Sun and Oracle engineers and the community and will enable all developers to participate in the application server development process. MilaX
MilaX is a small size Live CD distribution which runs completely off a CD or a USB pendrive. It is based on Solaris Nevada and includes its basic features. What originally started as an experiment to see how much Solaris software could fit in miniCD eventually became a full-fledged OpenSolaris distribution. MilaX also it is possible to use as Rescue-CD. It can be installed on storage media with small capacities, like bootable business cards, USB flash drives, various memory cards, and Zip drives. MilaX is free to use, modify and distribute. I tried to make its as much as possible similar on DSL and have transferred therefrom some programs. The current version of MilaX is 0.3 (based on Nevada b85), released April 23, 2008. MilaX currently includes the following software: Beaver, Gtk-Terminal, Vim, Netsurf, Sylpheed, Midnight Commander, emelFM, XMMS, Xpdf, VNC viewer, Rdesktop, gFTP, gPicview, Torsmo, Irssi and other utilities. Except for that you can take advantage of all basic OpenSolaris opportunities: dtrace, zfs, brandz and e.t.c.As well as BeleniX, MilaX is released under the CDDL license version 1.

Open Solaris
OpenSolaris is an operating system (OS), an open source project licensed under CDDL, and a community. The project's goals are innovation, collaboration, and the extension of OpenSolaris technology. OpenSolaris is free, open source, and well-suited for desktops, laptops, servers, and data centers. The quality requirement of OpenSolaris is perhaps best stated as " Production Ready All The Time".
- BeleniX is a *NIX distribution that is built using the OpenSolaris source base.
- MartUX mBE BlastwaRe Edition is the first non-SXCR OpenSolaris distribution that is available both for SPARC and for x64/x86.
- NexentaOS is a complete GNU-based free and open source operating system built on top of the OpenSolaris kernel and runtime.
- SchilliX is an OpenSolaris based UNIX Live CD and distribution for the x86, x64 and EM64T architectures.
- Milax is a small size Live CD distribution which runs completely off a CD or a USB pendrive.

QEMU A generic and open source machine emulator and virtualization software developed by Fabrice Bellard, the author of a compact
C compiler. QEMU can run operating systems and programs developed for one machine on a different machine.
When used as virtualization software, the host and guest machine must use x86-compatible processors. In emulation mode, it
supports x86 PFCs, MIPS R4000, Sun SPARC and PowerPC processors.
When used as a machine emulator, QEMU can run OSes and programs made for one machine (e.g. an ARM board) on a different
machine (e.g. your own PC). By using dynamic translation, it achieves very good performances.
When used as a virtualizer, QEMU achieves near native performances by executing the guest code directly on the host CPU. A
host driver called the QEMU accelerator (also known as KQEMU) is needed in this case. The virtualizer mode requires that both
the host and guest machine use x86 compatible processors.
The supported host and target CPUs are listed in the status page. Website Reviews: 0

Q - [kju] CPU Emulator for Mac
Open source software for running Windows or Linux on a Macintosh. It allows users to switch between guest PCs and restart guest PCs at any point. Q also enables users to exchange files between the host operating system and the guest. Q is based on the excellent open source CPU emulator QEMU from Fabrice Bellard. Pierre d'Herbemont from stegefin.free.fr ported QEMU to OS X and initiated a cocoa Version. That was the initialization for Mike to develop Q. A completely rewritten cocoa port of QEMU, built directly on OS X, making use of Apples Core-technologies like Coreimage, Coreaudio and OpenGL for in- and output, saving the overhead of crossplattform APIs like SDL, FMOD or GTK.
